Terms of Use

1. About these terms

Skiiip (skiiip.net) is operated by RoamN Entertainment, based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada ("we", "us"). By using Skiiip you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

2. For guests

• Requests are suggestions. The DJ decides what to play and when. A request, a vote or a tip does not guarantee that a song is played.
• What you post is visible. The name and song you submit are shown to the DJ and to other guests at that event.
• Be respectful. Do not submit offensive, abusive or unlawful content, pretend to be someone else, or use scripts or other automated means to submit requests, votes or giveaway entries. Requests and entries can be removed and access can be blocked.
• Tips. A tip button opens the DJ's own payment page on another service. Tips are voluntary and are paid directly to the DJ. We do not process, hold or receive tips, and questions or refund requests about a tip go to the DJ.
• Giveaways. Each giveaway is run by its host, not by us, and is governed by the official rules linked on its entry page. The host is responsible for the prize.

3. For DJs and hosts

• Accounts. Accounts are currently issued by invitation. Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you must tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.
• Your events. You are responsible for how you use Skiiip at your events, including the content you add, any tip link you set, and following the venue's rules and the law.
• Your giveaways. If you run a giveaway you are its host and sponsor. You are responsible for completing the rules details accurately, awarding the prize as described, checking winners' eligibility, and complying with the laws that apply to contests, including any rules about alcohol or other restricted prizes.
• Guest information. You may use guests' names and phone numbers only to run that event or giveaway. Do not copy them for marketing or any other purpose.
• Acceptable use. Do not use Skiiip for anything unlawful, to mislead guests, to collect information under false pretences, or in a way that disrupts the service for others.

4. Skiiip Pro

• Skiiip Pro costs $10 CAD per month and unlocks additional features. Payment is handled by Stripe.
• The subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
• Cancel anytime. Pro stays active until the end of the month you've paid for. Payments are not refunded, but contact us if you were charged by mistake.
• If we change the price, we will tell you before your next renewal so you can cancel first.

5. Availability and changes

We work to keep Skiiip running, but it is provided as is and as available. It may be interrupted, and features may change or be removed. Do not rely on it as the only way to run something important at your event.

6. Our responsibility to you

• To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or losses arising from an event, a tip, a giveaway or a prize.
• To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Skiiip Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 CAD if you paid nothing.
• Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
• If you are a DJ or host, you agree to cover our reasonable losses if a claim is made against us because of how you ran an event or giveaway or because you broke these terms.

7. Ending use

You can stop using Skiiip at any time, and a DJ can ask us to close their account. We may suspend or close an account, or block access, if these terms are broken or the service is being misused.

8. General

• These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes are to be brought in the courts of Alberta.
• If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
• We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and continuing to use Skiiip after that date means you accept it.
