Privacy Policy

Effective October 15, 2026

The short version. Skiiip collects only what it needs to run song requests and giveaways at an event, and to email people who ask to join the early-access waitlist. Song requests are deleted after 30 days and giveaway entries within 48 hours after the giveaway ends. Nothing is sold, and we email only people who ticked the box to hear from us.

1. Who we are

Skiiip (skiiip.net) is operated by RoamN Entertainment, based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In this policy "we" and "us" mean RoamN Entertainment.

Questions and requests about your information go to our privacy contact at [email protected].

2. What we collect and why

If you request or vote for a song

WhatWhy
The name you type, and the song title and artistTo show your request to the DJ and to other guests at the same event
A random identifier stored in your browserTo count your requests and votes so limits can be applied. It does not identify you by name
Your location, only if the event has a location check turned onTo confirm you are at the venue. It is checked and then discarded. The coordinates are not stored

If you enter a giveaway

WhatWhy
Your name and mobile numberTo enter you in the draw, allow one entry per person, and contact you if you win
A random identifier stored in your browserTo show your ticket and tell your phone if you win
Your location, only if the giveaway requires itTo confirm you are at the venue. We keep only a pass or fail result and an approximate distance, not the coordinates
The time you agreed to the giveaway rulesAs a record that you agreed

Each giveaway is run by a host (the DJ or venue), who is named in that giveaway's official rules. The host can see entrants' names and the last four digits of their numbers. The full number is shown to the host only for a winner.

If you have a DJ account

WhatWhy
Username, email address and passwordTo sign you in. Passwords are stored only in hashed form and cannot be read by us
Your events, settings, tip link and brandingTo run the service for you
Subscription status and a Stripe customer referenceTo provide Skiiip Pro. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages and never reach our server

If you join the early-access waitlist

WhatWhy
Your email addressTo email you about early access and Skiiip updates, which you agree to by ticking the box on the form
Whether you are a DJ, a venue or both, and your city if you give itTo decide who to bring into the beta first and where
The exact wording of the box you ticked and the time you ticked itAs a record of your consent, which Canada's anti-spam law requires us to keep
Campaign tags in the link you arrived from, if it had any (for example, that you came from an Instagram post)To learn which posts bring people to the waitlist. They describe the link, not you

Every email we send you has an unsubscribe link. Using it stops all emails at once.

For everyone

Our server and our network provider process your IP address to deliver pages, limit abuse and keep security logs. Security logs are kept for a limited time and are used only to investigate problems.

3. Cookies and browser storage

  • Signed-in DJs get one session cookie that keeps them signed in. Guests get no cookie from us.
  • Your browser's local storage holds the random identifier described above, your theme choice, and the name you last typed so you do not have to retype it.
  • Cloudflare, our network and security provider, may set cookies it needs to block bots and attacks, including when a giveaway shows its "I am human" check.
  • If you arrive from a link with campaign tags, your browser's session storage keeps those tags until you close the tab, so they can be included if you join the waitlist.
  • The overview video on the home page is hosted on YouTube. It loads from youtube-nocookie.com only when you press play. Until then nothing is requested from YouTube. Once it plays, Google's privacy policy applies to the video.
  • We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

4. Who sees your information

  • The DJ and other guests at your event see the name and song on a request.
  • The giveaway host sees entries as described above. Winners' first names and last initials may be shown on screen and announced.
  • Service providers that process information for us: Cloudflare (network delivery, security and bot checks), Stripe (subscription payments for DJs) and Google (sending our emails, such as waitlist and account emails). All three may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that country.
  • We may disclose information when the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information. We send marketing email only to people who joined the waitlist and ticked the box, and never to guests because they made a request or entered a giveaway.

A DJ's tip link takes you to that DJ's own payment page on another service, such as Stripe or PayPal. Tips are paid directly to the DJ. We do not receive your payment details, and that service's privacy policy applies.

5. How long we keep it

InformationKept for
Song requests and votes30 days after the request was made, then deleted automatically. A DJ can clear them sooner
Giveaway entries, phone numbers and winner recordsDeleted automatically within 48 hours after the giveaway's last entry or draw. A host can clear them sooner
Waitlist sign-upsUntil you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and no longer than two years after you sign up. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and the date, so we never email you again. Ask and we will delete that too
DJ accountsUntil the account is closed, then deleted
Security logsA limited period, then overwritten

6. How we protect it

Skiiip runs on a server in Alberta, Canada. Connections are encrypted, access to the service is limited and logged, and we keep as little guest information as the service can work with. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta as the law requires.

7. Your choices and rights

  • You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and tell us the event or giveaway and the name or number you used. We respond within 45 days.
  • You can withdraw your consent at any time by asking us to remove a request or a giveaway entry. Removing an entry takes you out of the draw.
  • You can leave the waitlist at any time with the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or by emailing [email protected]. Tell us if you want your sign-up deleted completely.
  • Location sharing is always your choice. If you decline, you cannot use an event or giveaway that requires it.
  • If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta at oipc.ab.ca.

8. Younger guests

Giveaways are open only to adults, as set out in each giveaway's rules. Song requests may be used at all-ages events such as weddings; a younger guest should use a first name or nickname only.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Changes do not apply to information collected before that date in a way that reduces your protection.
